The new release adds backup throttling capability to balance backup performance processes against system usage, and integrated access to cloud storage to take advantage of public and private cloud services for remote, off-site protection, archiving or additional storage capacity.
New archiving features move files to disk or cloud to free up production storage, reduce the daily volume of data backed up and provide long-term off-site retention, while granular mailbox recovery simplifies recovery Microsoft Exchange email messages from a single pass backup.
New integration with CA ARCserve Backup r16 enables disk-based backups to be cloned to tape media and recovered via the ARCserve Backup console, to provide long-term off-site storage and single point of management. The new release also adds laptop and desktop protection, giving smaller businesses the same powerful infinite incremental and bare metal restore capabilities used to protect your corporate servers.
